If you are one of those people who have purchased FileMaker Pro because everyone told you that you need a database. And, so you now find yourself sitting in front of your PC having just installed the CD or download.
You have no idea of where to begin, you might not even know what a database is..
Don’t worry, I’ve written a small article that will hopefully shed some light onto where to go first, what to learn first, and just as importantly, what to ignore first.
Dowload Article: FileMaker For Beginners – Getting Started, Fresh After the Install
(Right-click and “Save As” or “Save Link As”)
The download is a very top-level simple guide to get you started, a “which tree to look at first in the forest”.
The download will not necessarily teach you how to do any of the steps, I’m relying on you to sink or swim – all I am providing here is the rubber ring to cling to.
Watch out for some FileMaker Pro teaching tutorials, for absolute beginners, coming in the near future.
If you find the article useful, please tell me, if you think it could be improved, let me know where.. now get on with it.
About the Author: Darren Lunn is a self-taught FileMaker Pro Developer, who loves to work, rest and play with FileMaker.. Did I mention he likes FileMaker too?
